Read at [Publication]Consumed by insatiable wanderlust and a deep-rooted passion for exploring cultures, I've experienced over sixty countries — expressing what I find through my art and writing. As an artist I focus on landscapes and ancient monuments, capturing their essence in scratchboard, watercolor, and acrylic. Over the past twenty-five years, my work has appeared in group and solo exhibitions across the U.S. and internationally and has won several art awards. I'm a signature member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists and Artists for Conservation, exhibiting regularly in juried shows in the Chicagoland area and beyond.
As a freelance journalist, I've published more than 500 travel and humor pieces in newspapers around the world — often illustrated with my own artwork — and won a Best Travel Writer of the Year award. These threads come together in my book, Rambles into Sacred Realms: twelve destinations, each in a different country, accompanied by 100 pieces of my artwork.
Born in India, I've lived in Thailand, Israel, South Africa, the UK, and Greece before moving to the U.S. in 1998. When I'm not holding a pen, brush, or airplane ticket, I head up a global corporation — shifting gears between Thai, Hindi, Thinglish, Hinglish, and English. An alumnus of Harvard Business School, I live in Wilmette, Illinois, with my wife and daughter, still coaxing my college-age son toward at least one study-abroad semester.
